Canoe Instruction and Practice
Scout Cabin / Haw River

We worked with the Scouts on canoeing skills in the river so they will be prepared for their river cleanup service project next weekend and camping trip upriver. Instruction was led by Asst Scoutmaster Bart Neyman and former Scoutmasters Sam Berryhill and Bill McBride. The boys are so fortunate to have such experienced outdoor enthusiasts to share skills with them.
They paddled upriver and worked on skills, then returned to the landing to practice turning over and re-entering the canoes, which quickly turned into a nice swim in the river!
